On this page we list new features and fixes in the new WeLib versions released.

Version 4.18.7

Release date: June 4th, 2025

QURIA SCHOOL (WeLib)

  • Users

    • It is now possible to use an email address to log into Quria School (WeLib).

    • We have removed the catalogue search option from the Self-Service Module in WeLib.

BUGFIXES

  • Catalog in WeLib (stand-alone and Quria School)

    • Now the correct number on the issues are shown under items on the catalog detail page and not the organization ID as it was before. (only for Quria School)

    • The bug that made the line height in the description field very large is now fixed.

  • Search on barcode in WeLib (stand-alone)

    • The cursor is in focus in the barcode field again. The barcode field is found under Library - Manage the library, in the first tab.

  • Start page (stand-alone and Quria School)

    • Bugfix: when changing places of images or body window on the start page, the text in the body window seemed to disappear. This issue is now resolved.

WELIB (QURIA SCHOOL)

  • Reservations

    It is now possible to choose pickup branch when creating a reservation in WeLib. According to the rules in Quria and settings on the Public portal system user, students and staff can make reservations on different branches and choose pickup branch freely.

BUGFIXES

  • Catalogue in WeLib (stand-alone and Quria School)

    In earlier versions of WeLib, when searching the catalog, you got a suggestion of similar words if you didn´t get a hit. It could be words with similar spelling or correct suggestions, if you misspelled the word you typed. This functionality is now back in WeLib.

  • Items in WeLib (stand-alone)

    The availability information for items if an item has status "Ordered" or "Lost" is now correct.

  • My page

    The option to renew is no longer visible on My page if the option for circulation is disabled in the configuration.

Version 4.15.4

WELIB STANDALONE

  • Reservations in WeLib

    Message about reservation of material on shelf in the library: we have added the name of the patron who made the reservation.

  • Self-publishing

    All self-published resources and reviews are now connected to a specific school. If the patron only belongs to one school, then that school is pre-selected. If the patron belongs to more than one school, it can choose which school to publish on.

    Please note! Students can only choose to publish on one school.

  • Start page

    Change logo in WeLib: it is now possible to change the logo on the start page and replace it with your own logo. Please note! if you change the logo, it is for the whole installation.

    To see the new functionality: click on Manage this section and see the section “Change header logo” to the top right on the page. The height will be automatically reduced to 44px, so for best results use a logo that is in landscape rather than portrait. Use a logo that works well on a white background. Max size is 20 KB and only JPEG or PNG files are allowed.

    It is also possible to revert to the standard logo.

    New text editor: we have added a text editor on the start page in WeLib that replaces the old section for text.

  • Self-publishing

BUG FIXES

  • Catalog in WeLib (standalone)

    When an item has a reservation with status: Ready for pickup, the status for availability is now correct on the catalog detail page under Items.

  • Catalog in Quria School

    Works and manifestations that are deleted in Quria are now removed from WeLib within five minutes time.

  • Circulation in WeLib (standalone)

    An item with a loan period of 0 days was earlier possible to check out. This is no longer possible.

  • Reservations in WeLib (standalone)

    We have corrected the email subject on the email that is sent from WeLib when someone makes a reservation on material that is on shelf in the library.

  • Reservations in WeLib and Quria School

    We have removed the unnecessary labels for reservations on My page.

  • Self Service Module in Quria School

    WeLib self-service did not regard the calendar in Quria. This issue has now been resolved.

Version 4.14.15

WELIB STANDALONE

  • Collections in WeLib: We have added a branch parameter for collections. This prevents collections to show on other branches then the one they belong to.

  • Self-publishing: We have added a check for file size. When you try to upload a file in Add resource, e-book, the system will tell you if you exceed the maximum file size which is 20 mb.

  • Self-service module: We have split the functionality for check out and the list of older loans in two tabs. This is done to improve performance and to make the process of checking out quicker. The first tab is only for check out. The patrons can switch to the second tab to see the older loans and to make renewals.

    We have modified the text on the checkout button to “Check out and Renew” since it is possible to renew in the Self-Service module now.

    The red countdown bar is removed and replaced with a less intrusive warning about automatic logout.

    Also, when the user presses any key or moves the mouse, the countdown to logout stops, which was not the case before.

  • Start page: We have added an error message on the start page, that warns you if you try to upload an image that is larger than 1MB.

WELIB (QURIA SCHOOL)

  • Catalog in Quria School: It is now possible to display covers that are uploaded locally in Quria in WeLib.

    URL: s from Quria is now visible in Quria School

BUG FIXES

  • Catalog in WeLib and Quria School: When you choose a school/branch at the top of the page (other than your own) and then search for books: that choice is now reflected on the catalog detail page under Items. Before, the items on your own school were always selected, regardless of the choice of school/branch you made at the top of the page.

  • Catalog in Quria School: Articles on manifestation level in Quria is now showing as Article in Quria Schools (WeLib)

    We have removed the "Total number of loans" from the item section on the catalog detail page, after requests from customers.

  • Circulation in Quria School: We have corrected an error with renewals in Quria School. The renewals are now made on the correct branch.

Version 4.13.3

WELIB STAND-ALONE

  • Adding resources: When searching on title or author to import a catalog record, you get a hitlist from LIBRIS (or any of the other metadata providers). We have changed so you don´t have to scroll down to the bottom of the modal window to select (or cancel) a title from that hitlist.

  • Catalog search: Information in the hitlist about parts in series. If there are several books in a series, the series name and number will show in the hitlist.

  • Items: We have added a possibility to add and manage items on the Item detail page. One can access this page by searching a barcode under “Library - Manage library”. By scanning a barcode, one ends up on the item detail page.

  • Users: It is now possible to add classes and groups directly on a user, when creating the user.

  • Users: When creating a user with role Student, the field Permission (which is only used for teachers and librarians) is no longer visible after selecting the role Student when adding or editing a user.

WELIB (QURIA SCHOOL)

  • Patron Sync: For Norwegian customers with Quria and WeLib: We have done an integration for Feide.

BUG FIXES IN WELIB-STAND-ALONE

  • Reservations: it is no longer possible to delete an item that has reservations status “Ready for pickup”

  • Self Service: it is now possible to see a countdown bar in the Self Service again, when logged in.

  • Start page: We have fixed an issue with new books not being visible on the start page.

  • Start page: it is now possible to add links to the start page again.

  • Start page: we have fixed an issue with translations keys on the start page.

BUG FIXES IN WELIB (QURIA SCHOOL)

  • Catalog in WeLib with Quria: we have fixed an issue that showed an author’s name in different languages. Now you´ll only see the native variant of the author’s name.

  • Self Service: it is now possible to see a countdown bar in the Self-Service Module again, when logged in.

  • Self Service: now there is a notification when checking in a reserved item in the Self-Service Module, which was not the case before.

  • Start page: it is now possible to add links to the start page again.

  • Start page: we have fixed an issue with translations keys on the start page.

Version 4.12.9

Release date: February 21st 2024

NEWS

  • Print out of a single reservation: If a student or teacher belongs to more than one school, this is now visible on the print-out of the reservation. All schools are listed for the users, instead of just the information "Multiple school" as it is in the list of reservations.

  • Reservations for others: It is now possible to see classes when creating a reservation for a student or a teacher. Before you could only search on names but now it is also possible to filter by class.

BUG FÌXES

  • The start page: it is now possible to move the elements on the start page again.

  • WeLib with Quria: we have fixed a bug in the filter to hide e-media from Quria in WeLib. The e-media was visible even though there was a filter in place but now it works as expected.

  • The Self-Service Module: when a student now logs into the Self Service and immediately clicks on "Back" in the browser, they end up on the login page for the Self Service and not in WeLib, logged in.

  • Reservations: if an item has a reservation with status "Ready for pickup" it is not possible to delete the item from the item detail page. The Delete-button is not visible if an item has that reservation status.

Version 4.11.1

Release date: November 13th, 2023

BUGFIXES

  • Missing fields for resource type Book: the fields that were missing for the resource type Book is now back again.

  • Add and edit subject words: it is now possible to add new and edit the existing subject words in a catalog record again.

  • Duplicates of loans: some customer has had problems with the scanners reading the barcodes to quickly and this had led to duplicates of identical loans. This is now corrected so no patrons can have duplicate loans.

  • Correction of a technical issue: we have corrected an issue with memory loss which led to operational disturbances during fall of 2023.

  • Booking module: we have corrected an issue with the calendar in the Booking module and now it is much quicker.

NEWS

  • New functionality in the Self-Service Module: we have added functionality for renewing loans in the Self-Service Module.

  • Filter when sharing collections: we have added the possibility to filter on Class/Group when sharing a collection.

BUG FIXES

  • Item statuses: It is now possible to see items with status "Ordered" or “Lost” on the catalog detail page.

  • Sorting under “Users”: The sorting of classes and groups under "Users" are now in correct alphabetical and numerical order.

  • Improvement in performance: when a catalog record has many items the loading of items is quicker now.

  • Overwriting of loans: now you can see information about the overwritten loan for the new patron. (This only works for checkout in WeLib, not yet in the Self Service)

Version 4.9.0

NEWS

  • New items are visible on the catalog detail page: after adding items on a catalog record, the items are now visible directly without having to refresh the page.

  • Automatic reminders, all reminders in one email: now you get only one reminder with all overdue books, instead of one email for each book with the same due date.

  • School is visible on the printout of a single reservation: we have added school affiliation on the printout of a single reservation with status ”Ready for pickup”

  • Removal of users with reservations: In earlier versions of WeLib it was possible to delete users with reservations and this caused many problems. But this is no longer possible, the reservation must be removed first and then the user.

BUG FIXES

  • Patron information on the detail page of a checked out item: it´s now possible to see information about a patron on the item detail page.

  • Correct information in the note field: when searching on a barcode under “Manage the Library”, the correct information in the note field in the catalog record is shown.

  • Showing of classes and groups under “Users”: Classes and groups are now displayed in a correct numerical and alphabetical order, when filtering on classes.

  • Showing of class affiliation on patrons during check out: Now the class/group is visible on the patrons when searching for a patron during checkout.

  • Fields are no longer missing when adding/editing a resource: The missing fields are back: genre, extent, subject, edition and original title on the catalog detail page.

SSO

  • Single sign-on (SSO) via Google, Skolfederationen and Microsoft Office 365 is supported. Attribute description is now available in the online help. Enabling single sign-on for your WeLib installation comes with an additional cost. Learn more in the online help: Kertakirjautuminen (SSO)

STAND-ALONE WELIB

  • A Delete item button has been added on the item page that can be reached when scanning barcodes under Manage the library. If the item is not on loan, it can be deleted.

  • In Manage the library, the school libraries are now listed in alphabetical order.

  • When creating a reservation, the schools are now listed in alphabetical order.

  • The librarian can now use filters for renewals, loans and all loans (renewals and loans) in the statistics.

  • Class can now be seen on the Manage loans page beside the name of the student.

  • When printing loans from on the Manage loans page, the class will also be included on the printout.

  • When a librarian or teacher borrows an item to a student, the list of all students in one class is displayed.

  • Fewer clicks are required when adding records to the catalogue.

PATRONS

  • Patron details on My page are possible to edit if the system allows the patron to do changes. This can be configured and the administrator needs to contact Axiell support for this kind of changes.

SELF-SERVICE

  • An issue regarding Norwegian date format when using self-service has been solved.

  • Self-service is now supported for Norwegian schools.

INTEGRATIONS

  • An issue with SSO in Google Chrome has been solved.

  • The updated Sierra API is supported.

REVIEWS

  • Words in reviews that include å, ä or ö now generate hits when searching. Note: Existing reviews need to be resaved to become searchable.

CATALOGUE RECORDS

  • URLs in catalogue records will be published and shown for all schools in one installation with many schools.

SECONDARY WORKS

  • An issue with public secondary works has been solved.

SELF-PUBLICATION

  • Publication dates in self-publication can now be added in the calendar.

ACCESSIBILITY, USER INTERFACE AND STYLING

  • An issue with reading eBooks from ElibU has been solved. The modal window is now wider.

  • An issue with missing schools in the header when using mobile devices has been solved.

  • Departments are now visible in filters and the school does not have to be chosen, if there is only one school in the installation.

USER DOCUMENTATION

Version 3.4.0

Release date: November 27, 2020

ROLES

  • When importing users from Quria, the roles student, librarian and teacher are supported, and will be given the correct role, class and school in WeLib.

STAND-ALONE WELIB

  • A maximum number of renewals per loan period can be defined. These settings can only be made by someone with librarian permissions.

  • The search in Manage loans has been improved, particularly regarding alphabetical sorting.

  • It is now possible to filter loans for a class.

  • The number of sent reminders in Manage loans is now correct.

  • It is now possible to go back to the search results after having opened a title in Manage loans.

  • In schools where the learning resource module is used, it is now possible for the librarian to filter for all resources, only learning resources or non-learning resources in Manage loans.

ACCESSIBILITY, USER INTERFACE AND STYLING

Many accessibility improvements related to the WCAG requirements have been made, for example:

  • Improved support for keyboard navigation
  • Improved tab order
  • Improved navigation indication

Information about the accessibility in WeLib will be displayed in the footer of the start page (published before September 23, 2020). All users will be able to see this information without signing in. The library administrator can also activate a contact form to allow users to send improvement suggestions of the accessibility in your digital school library WeLib.

  • Support for Cyrillic letters

MESSAGES

  • It is no longer possible to send empty messages using the Contact librarian functionality.

COVERS

  • Covers are now fetched from Bokinfo instead of from Adlibris.

USER EXPERIENCE

  • The page MeLib is now called My page.
  • The user interface is continuously improved for usability and accessibility purposes. Some examples: improved user interface texts, location of the cursor and a possibility to browse lists from the top of the list.

STATISTICS

  • It’s possible to filter on roles when generating statistics.
  • Statistics from ELibU is now displayed.

COLLECTIONS

  • It’s now possible to enter a year when cataloguing objects.
  • In addition to the barcode, information about item status, loan status and currently on loan to is displayed when opening the details page of an item.
  • Printout of the collection is neatly presented when printing it from the browser.

Version 3.0.0

RESERVATIONS

  • Making reservations in standalone WeLib is now supported. You find reservation settings under Manage the library. Reservations can be ordered from our support.

SEARCH

  • Facets for Title and Series have been added to standalone WeLib. Contact our support to activate it.

ADMINISTRATION

  • It is possible for the administrator to see all schools from start.
  • Staff can only edit the start page of their own school.
  • Automatic reminders are supported in standalone WeLib.
  • An issue with logging in on multiple accounts has been fixed.

COLLECTIONS

  • Covers for records can be deleted
  • When adding multiple items to a record Standalone WeLib, you see the number of successful additions. If some additions failed, the barcodes for these are displayed.
  • DVD and Other can be selected as resource type when cataloguing in Standalone WeLib
  • An issue with fields that under certain circumstances were not copied when adding items in Standalone WeLib has been fixed. (CH00031671)
  • An issue with a user that under certain circumstances could not access items from ElibU has been fixed.

USER EXPERIENCE

  • The user interface is continuously improved for usability and accessibility purposes, for example with a better user experience when logging in.
  • An issue with likes that were missing on records has been fixed.
  • An issue with top lists Standalone WeLib that could not be exported in csv format has been fixed.
  • Schools with SAML2 and Skolfederation log-in can have this log-in as first choice. Contact our support to add this.
